The Onion's satire often strikes home... it brings to mind a South Park episode (Starvin' Marvin in Outer Space) which has a very similar theme... "Reading the Bible, plus accepting Jesus equals food."
While I understand it is a Christian imperative to propagate their beliefs, I think they are too frequently blinded by this directive to the point where they overlook more important and pressing issues.
How much truck-space was taken up by Bibles during the Katrina relief efforts? Truck-space that could've been used for fresh water, food or blankets.
